Investigating, she discovers a burglar, Bill, who immediately grabs her and gags her tightly. Despite her struggles, Ruby is trussed up with ropes and left struggling on her couch. Determined to escape and raise the alarm, Ruby spots a pair of scissors on her coffee table. She hops over to the table, sawing at the ropes with the scissors. Bill returns just in time to stop her efforts and bind her even more securely. He gags her again, this time with a cloth gag that makes her chew angrily. As Bill finishes his business, he returns to tie Ruby up even further, adding an extra layer of protection. Cursing her captor, Ruby tries to tip her chair or create some other escape plan, but Bill has tied her up too well. Finally, he covers her mouth with a handkerchief and leaves. Alone in her chair, Ruby continues to struggle, her bound and gagged state adding to the tension of the situation.
